Membership Policy:

Dues are $35 and due in December each year (Junior members $25)

Renewal dues are payable by the February meeting

A late fee of $10 will be assessed after the February meeting

New members may join at any time for $35 (After August $20)

Meeting guest fee of $5 applicable towards membership that night only

 

Benefits of membership include:

        Member directory

        Monthly meetings with national speakers

        Annual quilt show

        Library privileges

        Quarterly newsletter (emailed)

        Block of the month, fat quarter lottery

        Workshops with national teachers

        National Quilting Day event

 

Responsibilities of membership include:

         Participating in Show and Tell at meetings

        Making a quilt for the Comfort Quilt Community Project

        Participating on a committee

        Working at least one 2 hour shift for the quilt show *

        Selling at least 4 books of raffle tickets *

        Writing an article for the newsletter

        Bringing something for hospitality and participating in clean up

       * Junior members not responsible for this item

Scholarship Policy

In keeping with the mission of Eastern Long Island Quilters Guild, we will offer scholarships to our members for classes as well as bus trips. Often, we find that we have classes and bus trips that are not full to capacity. We will offer these spaces to members in need at no cost to the guild.

Scholarship Guidelines:

  • Member must be a member in good standing for at least one year
  • A member will receive no more than one scholarship in any calendar year.
  • Scholarship recipient must participate on one committee per year in addition to the two-hour commitment to the quilt show.
  • Recipient must complete a scholarship request to be submitted to the President.
  • Scholarships are contingent upon space availability. The executive committee will serve as the scholarship committee.
